About Huerta Luna
| Huerta Luna is a woman owned and run seed bank in the Galápagos Islands that supports the ecology, environment and native people of the islands by implementing and promoting sustainable agriculture practices. Their seed bank preserves plants adapted to the unique micro climates across the islands, and their community food alliance encourages farmers to use more sustainable practices. Every cent raised during this fundraiser will go directly to Huerta Luna, but I encourage you to make a donation regardless. They are an incredible organization that stretches every dollar to do the most good possible. Learn more about Huerta Luna here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Viewing | The plants are viewable through the windows at 4414 SE Hawthorne. Those bidding $300 or more in the auction can contact us to arrange a viewing.

Why? I’m leaving Portland to work abroad for a while, so I’ll be closer to jungles and don’t need to grow my own anymore. A lifetime ago I had the chance to see the forests of Huerta Luna on the Galápagos Islands, to meet Huerta Luna’s founder and the seed bank workers, and to hear a vision of better, more sustainable agricultural practices. They do incredible work that’s impossible to capture here, but visit their website to hear their story.
