About This 9 Foot Monstera | Approximately 9’ tall, 5’ wide, 3.5’ deep, I got this as a 2’ grocery store plant about seven years ago, split it to create three similar plants, and kept this, the biggest and best of them all. It’s a monster of a plant, “drinks” a gallon a week, and is attached to a bamboo support system. It features one secondary vine growing up the main stem (See photos). Comes in a large “self watering,” wheeled pot.

*** It will set a new leaf in the next 2-3 weeks, which may add up to 2 more feet to this plant by the new year. It requires a tall space. The leafs are in great overall shape, but it does have a few “burnt” tips (~ 1 inch) when it got over fertilized a few years ago.

You must arrange pickup for this plant, but I can help wrap it and load it for transport. It’s my favorite plant, so I want it to get to your home safely.

About This 8 Foot Tall Monstera | While the 9 footer is my favorite, this 8 foot tall Monstera is a close second. Grown from a tiny grocery store plant, this monstera is bushier and features six secondary plants growing in the same pot. Comes in a large “self watering,” wheeled pot. It is currently setting new leafs, but its growth will slow with the winter and restart as we get longer days in the Spring. The leafs are in great overall shape, but it does have a few “burnt” tips (~ 1 inch) when it got over fertilized a few years ago.

You must arrange pickup for this plant, but I can help wrap it and load it for transport. It’s my favorite plant, so I want it to get to your home safely.

Min Bid $80

A 6 foot tall bird of paradise in a traditional clay pot. Two plants in one pot, I’ve left on the old, dying leafs, but these can be cut for a cleaner looking plant. The leaves are huge and a new leaf is currently emerging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Pickup By Appointment Only | This space is not open to the public and plants are available to purchase by appointment only.

Viewing | The plants are viewable through the windows at 4414 SE Hawthorne. Those bidding $200 or more in the auction can contact me to arrange a viewing.

Why? | I’m leaving Portland to work abroad for a while, so I’ll be closer to jungles and don’t need to grow my own anymore. A lifetime ago I had the chance to see the forests of Huerta Luna on the Galápagos Islands, to meet Huerta Luna’s founder and the seed bank workers, and to hear a vision of better, more sustainable agricultural practices. They do incredible work that’s impossible to capture here, but visit their website to hear their story.
